Block O Life
Purpose & Goals
Components

The “Purpose” Components of the Block O
The top half of the Block O refers to our purpose. Purpose comprises those aspects of life that define who we are as individuals and the kind of people we want to become. We start with Purpose because we know that our spiritual beliefs and ethical values, and our commitment to personal integrity, family, and community, will become the foundation for all of our goals and everything else we do in life. By starting with Purpose, we establish the importance of becoming whole people, not just good football players.
The “Goals” Components of the Block O
On the bottom half of the Block O, we list our goals. This section is what we do, as opposed to what we are. We know that football is our players’ favorite subject. That’s why we’re here together, and that’s our common bond. We have exceptionally high goals in mind for the group, and those come first in our team goals. The needs of the team always come first, but that shouldn’t negatively affect an individual’s dreams concerning what he wants to become. We’re going to give our players a plan that we believe will help us achieve our team goals and at the same time allow them to achieve their individual goals. It’s our job as coaches to show our team what they have to do to grow and develop so they can reach those football goals.
